From Japan, Akio Averill had his fortunate upbringing when he made his first premier drifting in Formula Drift and winning which made him famous in the drifting world. This grabbed the attention of Scorchers leader Thomas Schmitt and they became good friends. When the time came to recruit team members for his team, Thomas recruited him for the World Race in which he drives Muscle Tone which is built to be a drift car and slide around corners.
In the Jungle Leg of the World Race he got caught up in a pile up with Thomas, Carl Dane, Helen Tremblay, and Jason Walker
Over the course of the World Race he is starting to figure out he isn't as good at drifting as he once thought...
